With the 2013 Federal Election almost on us, the team at Southern Skies Online Media have been busy arranging interviews with politicians to get their perspective on aviation in Australia.
Providing Commentary for the Aviation Careers Expo
Once again the team from Southern Skies Online Media were going mobile, this time flying up to Brisbane to provide commentary & audio coverage of the 2013 Aviation Careers Expo at the invitation of Aviation Australia.
If you would like our team to enhance your aviation event with commentary, music & interviews, please call Grant on 0422 914 949 or email us via contact@planecrazydownunder.com
Producing Content for Radio
We are now producing a one-hour version of our Plane Crazy Down Under show that is tailored for radio. Split into two 27 minute halves, the radio version is perfect for including station breaks and news reports at the top & bottom of the hour.
We have been found on Kinglake Ranges Radio, Seymour FM and Yass FM.
Feel free to call Grant on 0422 914 949 or email us via contact@planecrazydownunder.com if you would like to include the PCDU radio version in your station’s line up.
Contributing to Ryan Campbell’s Teen World Flight
Southern Skies Online Media are proud to help support Ryan Campbell’s attempt to be the youngest person to fly solo around the world. We have passed the hat around the PCDU audience and also chipped in $250 of our own money to join Ryan’s “500 Club” for his Teen World Flight project, raising a total of $550.
Blitzing Avalon
Once again the Southern Skies Online Media team were at Avalon Airshow providing coverage of the 2013 event for the Plane Crazy Down Under show.
This year we blitzed the media coverage providing daily 3 to 5 minute video summaries and 30 to 50 minute audio shows. With a core team of 7 and some additional helpers, we provided excellent coverage of the event and captured plenty of audio & video content that will be released in the coming months.
You can see all the Avalon 2013 content as it’s released on the PCDU Avalon 2013 page.
Covering the C130H Decommissioning
Thanks to our years of aviation coverage and working closely with the Royal Australian Air Force, we were invited to attend the decommissioning celebrations associated with the C130H being removed from RAAF service.
This included being on board the final C130H media flight as it flew over Sydney Harbour, being on site at RAAF Base Richmond as the aircraft practiced their farewell flight for the official ceremony and being on site at Pt Cook when a C130H arrived at the RAAF Museum.
AusFly Radio & Commentary
In September 2012 the team from Southern Skies Online Media packed their full airshow PA and remote studio into a pair of trucks & drove for 10 hours up to Narromine, New South Wales for the AusFly event.
Combining our aviation talent with our audio gear & remote broadcast equipment, we were able to provide a full airshow PA system that included a low-power broadcast radio and live stream to the Internet. Running for three days, we conducted interviews, played pre-recorded content and ran the commentary during each day’s air displays.
Covering a full flight line, display area and trade hall, we kept the audience informed & entertained throughout the event. We also provided the PA system for the dinner event at the end of the show.
Attending the DreamTour
Thanks to our years of aviation content, Southern Skies Online Media were invited by Qantas & Jetstar to attend the Boeing 787 DreamTour as flight test aircraft ZA003 visited Melbourne.
Joining with Aus Air Services for Christmas
We teamed up with Aus Air Services at Tooradin Airport to combine our respective Christmas Parties on December 17th. The skies were clear and the conditions were great for flying, resulting in a good turn out of PCDU listeners, local pilots and visitors.
In addition to the mobile studio, we also recorded with a number of live guests, demonstrated a UAV camera system and broadcast audio from an aerobatic flight.
All up it was a great success and a wonderful example of using Southern Skies Online Media’s remote broadcast crew & equipment to enhance an aviation event.
